Dr. Stacey Savard
Vital Roots Wellness is a naturopathic clinic owned and operated by Dr. Stacey Savard. Dr. Savard completed her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Her passion for health and wellness started early in childhood, which provided a clear path for her post-secondary studies, majoring in and graduating with a BSc in Exercise and Health Physiology from the University of Calgary. Following graduation, she completed her training in pedorthics, assessing the biomechanics of the lower limb and creating custom foot orthotics for individual needs. Working full time in the pedorthic industry for five years stimulated an interest in how to offer more for her patients. While pursuing a diploma in Equine Therapy (holistic medicine for horses), she discovered the discipline of naturopathic medicine and quickly gained a passion for the profession.
Vital Roots Wellness is a family practice that encompasses a multitude of modalities in patient care. Dr. Savard works with patients of all populations with a special interest in women’s health including fertility, prenatal and postpartum care and oncology. She also has a vested interest in chronic pain such as fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome as these conditions have affected people in her person life. She was also incredibly fortunate to have worked on a specialty shift focusing on FM and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) in her clinical year of medical school, with mentor Dr. Lousie McCrindle, ND, who has worked closely with one of the North American leaders in this area of specialty, Dr. Alison Bested, MD.
Dr. Savard wants you to know, she understands you! She is committed to digging deep to find the root cause, treating each patient as an individual and is often very humbled by what each patient has to teach her. She believes knowledge is powerful and is committed to providing as much education as possible to help advocate for informed choice in regards to individual health.
Outside of the clinic Dr. Savard’s greatest joy is her family and being outdoors. She loves exploring the world with her husband and daughters, playing with her two horses and two dogs, or finding a new hiking trail somewhere in the mountains. She is honoured to be practising in Campbell River, serving the community she grew up in and sharing her passion for wellness and health.
